Tazo Cross of St Francis
Hello

I have a family that surrounds me with love.  I'm passionate
about connecting people to opportunities, and welcoming
newcomers to Canada.  I have nurtured my lifelong faith journey and recently became a
Companion of St Francis.

I welcome you to my circle and hope our paths cross in many artistic, fun, and happy occasions,  Enjoy life my friends!

My Story

One never knows where to start when the world feels upside down sometimes.  I like the word contentment.  It helps me to remember to stay on the day where my hands and hearts.

I love learning. I love everything creative.  I melt when I see a parrot, dog, cat, baby bunny.  I always have had them in my care since I was a young. .  I love babies even more, even though I never had any myself.  I still love, loving them.

I  enjoy making "egg money"  It all started with Barbie dolls.  My Grandmother taught me to sew, and I bought my first sewing machine when I was 12.  I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit.  I call it a senior-preneurial spirit these days.

I have spent 30 years playing with cotton and making so many quilts.  They all were gifts from my heart. It was a so much fun learning about colour. finding the fabrics and starting.  It was a labour of love that melted the stress of a busy career life away. The community of quilting is marvellous, with many generous people that are now friends.

Diana walks Miley and Georgie every day this is their favorit walk

Last year I fell hard and dislocated by shoulder and tore a rotator cuff.  It was like nothing I ever experienced.  I could not use my left arm for months.  But I was restless, so I realized you could embroider water colour paper and make cards.  The world of embroidered greeting cards opened up.  It is an amazing medium. It embraces colour, design and lends itself to creating personalized and specially designed cards.  It fills my need to affirm individuals.  I look forward to embroiderying scriptures, poems, and great quotes to encourage us on the journey called life.

I have embroidered  on clothing, and slowly add that to my repetoire. I like the idea of Tatooing  Embroidery on clothing to add personality to what you where  I gladly embroider on a used items to give ithem more life. It also fills my need to "greener living

I am an Artisan, and I enjoy collaborating with creative individuals. The possibilities are endless.  Embroidery has possibilities on the front of your quilts working into the quilt design or capturing a special sayings.  I believe every quilt should have a label, it makes it a heirloom.  Many a hours go into making a quilt that uses high grade quilting cotton.  It is made with love, and it is usually a treasured possession  I am happy to work with you with words, colour and design to get just the right one so your work becomes a celebrated "Heirloom".

I coach embroidery at Serge and Sew once a month.  The teacher is only steps ahead of the students. Tian welcomes a the different embroidery machine.  I start where you are, and help you continue further in a very creative environment.

I  believe that you stand behind what you sell.  If people are not happy you make it right.   I love Canada more than ever.  I always buy local and purchase most of my fabric  and supplies locally.  I embroider to support various charities.  Prices are reasonable.

I am human, and need to remember tell myself "my body can not do everything my 50 year old mind dreams up ". I respect that.  I love reading, travelling, and just being who I am, in the quiet of my simple home surrounded by my beloved Miley and Georgie (Chihuahuas) and Annie and Jules (Goffin parrots)
